We use a graduated system of identification when determining a child’s specific needs:

  • Discussions are held between parents/carers and class teachers, and initial interventions may be decided upon.
  • The child’s progress will be monitored, and further assessment will aid the identification of individual needs.
  • Where a difficulty requires more in-depth support, targets and plans will be developed. It is at this stage that we may seek permission to take advice from an outside agency.
