Welcome from the Headteacher
My name is Mark Court and as the Headteacher, I am very proud to welcome you to Kings Heath Primary School. Situated in the south of Birmingham, Kings Heath Primary is a fully accessible school with staff and expertise that allows children with specific additional needs to be educated in a truly inclusive mainstream environment. We are deeply committed to challenging inequality in any form through an inclusive ethos that runs through the school.
Our mission statement: ‘ Nurturing ambition, achievement, respect and happiness’ is at the heart of our school and community.
Our primary aim is to ensure the very best teaching, learning and achievement for all pupils through an academically challenging and creative curriculum. We celebrate each child as an individual, enabling them to nurture their talents as well as support them to be culturally knowledgeable about our community, country and world.
We are proud of the rich diversity of our community and aim to provide a stimulating, relevant curriculum that develops each child whilst ensuring equality for all. We challenge all forms of discrimination and unconscious bias by providing a curriculum that is relevant to the backgrounds of all our pupils. We place a high importance and promote the love of reading so that pupils become articulate communicators and readers for life.
Our school is a happy school because the children feel safe and secure. They are cared for by a committed, caring and skilled staff and we pride ourselves on creating an environment where pupils can express themselves. We are pleased that Ofsted recognises our ethos as such a major strength and have identified that at the heart of our school there are ‘very warm relationships in all classes’ which ‘encourage and develop pupils’ confidence and enjoyment of learning.’ Our last Ofsted inspection noted that ‘The culture of the school is inclusive, and diversity is celebrated’. That inspection also confirmed teaching, learning and progress continue to be good and that our school improvement strategies are having an impact.
We look forward to our continuing partnership with parents, pupils and the wider community to build on our strengths and ensure the best possible education for all our children.
I hope this website gives you a flavour for our school, however, it is the energy, enthusiasm and creativity of our children and staff that makes our school unique. If you are interested in knowing more, please check out our Twitter page @K_HeathPrimary or arrange a time to visit our school.
